악마성드라큘라사교도들의 피의 의식에 의해, 나라의 마왕 드라큘라 백작이 100년의 잠으로부터 눈을 떴다······.

드라큘라 백작이 긴 잠에 대해 100년. 마을에는 평화가 방문해 드라큘라 백작도 전설적인 존재가 되어 버렸다.
그런 어느 날, 교회에서는 마을의 청년 시몬과 세레나의 결혼식이 거행되고 있었다.
행복하게 싸인 2명에게 웨딩 벨이 울려, 전도를 축복할까로 보였지만…….
돌연, 하늘은 암흑의 구름에 감싸져 대지천둥소리와 함께 마왕 드라큘라가 다시 눈을 떴다.
미녀의 생혈을 요구해 결혼식의 한가운데에 춤추듯 내려가 한순간에 신부를 빼앗아 갔던 것이다.
시몬은 세레나를 구하기 (위해)때문에, 악마성에 타 갔다.

헝가리 지방에서, 드라큘라 백작의 가슴에 말뚝을 치는 것에 성공해 100년이 지나고 있었다.

Released in February 1988.
This game is known in Japan as "Akumajou Dracula".
Haunted Castle IS part of the "CastleVania" series. However, as many games of this series, it is not part of the main storyline. The main character doesn't have any name, but it is believed to be Simon Belmont of the original "CastleVania".
King Records released a limited-edition soundtrack album for this game (Konami Game Music Collection Vol.1 - K30X7705) on 05/08/1988. This album was reprinted (KCIA-2309) on 21/05/1993.
- TIPS AND TRICKS -
* Combining Credits : If you've ever played Haunted Castle, then you know that you are only allowed 3 continues throughout the game. And since you only get One Life per credit, it makes for a hard game. But if you have four credits in the game and hit the player one start button four times you will combined all four credits together giving you a huge life bar. Making this game a lot easier to play. Only trouble is, if you die, it will be game over because you will have used up all 3 of your continues making your Life Bar bigger.
